Hello Tee, We are writing to let you know that to deliver an improved Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) experience with better scalability, reliability and performance, the Backup for GKE API will be automatically enabled on your projects where the GKE API is enabled, starting September 12, 2023. You are receiving this notification because we have detected that one or more of your projects has GKE clusters and/or uses the GKE API. What do you need to know? This change enables GKE customers to improve the data protection posture of their GKE clusters by making it easier to leverage the Backup for GKE service. Please note that enabling the Backup for GKE API alone will not cause any changes in your configuration settings or behavior of your GKE cluster, including any workloads running in the cluster. Enabling the Backup for GKE API will not automatically create any backups nor incur additional costs. It just removes friction from the process of configuring your backup plans to protect your clusters. You won't be charged anything unless and until you actually create backups. What do you need to do? No action is required on your part as Backup for GKE API will be automatically enabled. If you would like to see the complete list of APIs enabled in your project, review our guide to see the list of enabled services on projects. We're here to help If you have any questions or require assistance, please contact Google Cloud Platform Support.
